| | Hillsong United band is an Australian rock and worship band, a part of Hillsong Church's youth ministry Hillsong United. Their music is a contemporary style of praise and worship tempered with mainstream rock.
The band formed as close friends from within Hillsong Church's youth ministry, originally called 'Powerhouse Youth', led for many years by Donna Crouch. As the house band for the youth meetings of Powerhouse, the band played covers of Hillsong Church and various other ministries' music, sometimes members contributing to Youth Alive and its' albums (Darlene Zschech was involved in Youth Alive before Hillsong Church). Dr Mark Evans (Macquarie Uni) states in his Ph. D thesis, "A youth band was formed from the Hillsong music team, which took what was happening in the church musically and played it louder and rockier, appealing directly to a youth demographic". Steve McPherson, Deb Ezzy and Donia Makedonez were significant members. Powerhouse grew and was split in the late 1990s into two youth groups, 'Powerhouse' (18-25 years of age) and 'Wildlife' (12-16 yrs). Reuben Morgan, assisted by Marcus Beaumont and Tanya Riches were placed in charge of the Powerhouse band, with the former Channel V Leg-Up competition winner 'Able' band boys, Joel Houston and Marty Sampson in charge of Wildlife, while Luke Munns was the main drummer, and Michael Guy Chislett the main guitarist. In the Summer of 1997, the youth groups and these bands joined for the annual Summercamp, and the camp was called 'United'.
Delirious?' Martin Smith's song 'Did You Feel the Mountains Tremble' was the theme song of the camp, and the momentum of youth carried well beyond the camp into church services. Reuben Morgan wrote 'My Redeemer Lives' as a way for the youth to continue worshipping, along with many other songs that appear on the album 'By Your Side' written by Marty Sampson and Luke Munns (Stay).
Darlene Zschech suggested to Reuben that they make an album in 1998 after many songs were written in the youth ministry, and the EP 'One' was recorded. The album was packaged with the Hillsong annual album, and both achieved Gold sale status in Australia. 'Everyday' was recorded in 1999. The band continued to release an album each year, rebranding as Hillsong United in 2002 after Reuben Morgan stepped down as co-worship leader of the band. Joel Houston, the eldest son of the church's senior pastor Brian Houston, stepped up to lead the group together with Marty.
Current members of the Hillsong United band include Jonathon Douglass (J.D.), Jadwin "Jad" Gillies, Holly Watson, Annie Garratt, Bec Gillies, and Michelle Fragar, daughter of Russell Fragar. Michael Guy Chislett plays guitar and Matthew Tennikoff plays bass guitar. Former original drummer Luke Munns made a transition from the drums to front the rock/indie band LUKAS. Popular New Zealand artist Brooke Fraser recently joined the band when she joined the church, first appearing on United We Stand.
The annual Hillsong United CD/DVD was recorded over many years during their October youth conference Encounterfest, with the album released in the first quarter of the following year. The 2007 album All of the Above was the first album to be fully studio recorded, containing videos of songs on the DVD. The band has toured in a number of countries, leading worship to thousands in North and South America, Europe and Asia. MAYO CLINIC: Consuming fewer calories is often the most effective way to lose weight. Still, an increase in physical activity is an important part of any weight-loss program. And walking is a great way to get started. For motivation, do the math: To lose 1 pound, you must burn 3,500 calories. If you cut 250 calories from your daily diet, you could lose that pound in about two weeks. If you add 30 minutes of brisk walking to your daily routine, you could burn another 150 calories a day. Make that 60 minutes of brisk walking and you could burn about 300 calories a day. Of course, the more you walk and the quicker the pace, the more calories you'll burn. Keep it up and you'll walk your way to a healthy weight. Better yet, walking can help you keep the weight off for good. | | The Purpose Driven Life (PDL) Seminar (FIRST BATCH) was conducted on March 18, 2008 at the PNP-Regional Headquarters at Camp Adduru, Tuguegarao City as part of the PNP Integrated Transformation Program (ITP). Speakers for the PDL seminar where Pastor Ross Resuello, Jude Lingan, Arthur Tabbu and Christian Sales (that's me), all from the Victory Christian Fellowship-Tuguegarao. Senior police officers from the regional command and from the various provinces in region 2 attended the seminar, including some chiefs of police in the cities and municipalities. Some non-uniformed personnel and other civilians (volunteer-Pastors) also joined the seminar. No less than our PNP Regional Director himself, Police Chief Superintendent Ameto Gil Tolentino, GSC, joined us and distributed the certificates.
The PNP Integrated Transformation Program has the ultimate goal of applying an integrated institutional framework, strategy, and process that will transform the PNP into a more capable, effective, and reliable police force. Through this transformation process, the PNP would be able to enhance the quality of its services and relationships with the community, improve the peace and order situation, and maintain a safe environment that is conducive to socio-economic growth.
The seminar is part of the spiritual recovery program. This is a top to bottom activity that targets the officers and the commanders in all PNP units and offices together with all their respective personnel. It is planned that by June 2008, the 120,000 police personnel will have undergone this training.
Let us not forget to pray for the members of our PNP. Mamang pulis is God-fearing... |
The United Nations reported that governments (including the Philippines) recognize cooperatives as vehicles for social development. Local policies in the country however, do not support this view specially in the area of taxation where laws are contradictory to each other, e.g., the Cooperative Code and the BIR regulations implementing the National Internal Revenue Code, etc. According to cooperative federations and tertiary organizations, government support for cooperatives are in fact insignificant and generally non-existent. The Lighthouse cooperative is considered a social enterprise since a significant amount of its income from operations are channeled into community service projects that benefit the indigent sector of the community through collaborative activities with community based non-government organizations doing civic work. Consequently, it was able to receive awards and citations because of these social development initiatives. VIEW PHOTOS>

| | Victory Christian Fellowship - Tuguegarao Church celebrated the Valentine's Banquet on February 12, 2008 with a dinner fellowship at the Maximo Hall of Max's Restaurant in Tuguegarao City. Pastor Ross Resuello shared the message - IF I SPEAK IN TONGUES OF MEN AND OF ANGELS, BUT HAVE NOT LOVE, I AM ONLY A RESOUNDING GONG OR A CLANGING CYMBAL. (1Cor 13:1)
It went on to a declaration: 1Cor 13:4-7 which everybody confessed...I am patient, I am kind, I do not envy, I do not boast, I am not proud, I am not rude, I am not self-seeking, I am not easily angered, I do not keep records of wrongs, I do not delight in evil but rejoice with the truth, I always protect, I always trust, I always hope, I always persevere, I will not fail....
The Love of God for us is the reason why we celebrate. We had a great dinner, watched and cheered over the videoke challenge, burned more calories with ballroom dancing, etc We had a great time in the Lord!!!!

| | Philippians 1:6 (New Living Translation) "And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns."
The Church has grown...from a handful who sit on crudely sawed-off log benches to hundreds now on white monoblock chairs on an air conditioned auditorium in the heart of the city's commercial district under the leadership of Pastor Ross Resuello, who is now also the No. 1 elected City Counselor, a man of God entrusted by the Lord with more than one talent. Our honored guest-Pastor Fer's message confirmed and even sustained what has been in the heart of Tuge Christians - more disciples, more workers and leaders to bring in the harvest. God is faithful... |
